In a space untethered by gravity, Parajumpers showcases the boundless possibilities of its SS23 collection
A weightless space. A body that cannot be limited. A movement without constraint. Arcing, swirling, floating – this is a moment of pure possibility, a celebration of kinesis, a denial of gravity.
Embodied in the fleeces and pants of the Parajumpers SS23 collection, this collection exists on its own plane.
For men, this focus revolves around the flexibility and freedom afforded by the items of the Rescue Fleece, Rescue Uniform and Military Fleece series.
A desire for fluidity informs every part of the Rescue Fleece’s construction. Lighter than air, the series pairs soft jersey with micro-ottoman for supple, weightless garments. Inspired by the emphasis on mobility seen in military garments, the sweatshirts, T-shirts, pants and shorts of the series are an expression of infinite and unconstrained energy.
This marriage of the utilitarian with the abstract is also found in the Military Fleece series, where ultra-soft sweatshirts are matched with prints inspired by Parajumpers’ roots in the 210th Rescue Squadron. And a feeling of weightlessness endures in the Rescue Uniform series.
Featuring a shirt, jacket, shorts and pants rendered in airy peach poplin, the collection exudes a breeziness heightened by the zephyrous greens, beiges and blues of the garments.
In the women’s collection, the Rescue Fleece and Urban Fleece series are odes to the limitless possibility of movement. The Rescue Fleece’s cumulus-soft sweatshirts, T-shirts and pants combine stretch cotton with micro-ottoman for garments that seem to belong to the heavens.
And as a nod to the gravity-defying manoeuvres of Parajumpers’ Alaskan air force namesake, all items include the brand’s iconic orange zips and pullers. The diaphanous beauty of these items can also be found in the Urban Fleece series. Crafted in ethereal off-white and designed with oversized silhouettes, they exist as one with the air.
